2 Great Causes Lending a Helping Hand

I’ve got a couple of friends doing some amazing charity work and wanted to help them spread the word about each of their service events.

Service Soapbox – Teddy Bear Den:

“In April, the Service Soapbox bloggers are a group of over 70 women (and counting), who’ve put together a series of events designed to raise awareness and products for the March of Dimes Teddy Bear Den.  The Teddy Bear Den helps to prevent birth defects by giving low-income women baby-related incentives (diapers, baby clothes, wipes) for participating in prenatal care and for avoiding unhealthy behaviors like smoking and drinking during pregnancy.

If you live in Utah… Grab a pack of diapers (or a case!), baby clothes, blanket, or anything else baby related (see the wish list here), and join them as they gather baby items for the March of Dimes Teddy Bear Den Baby Shower.  Come socialize with your fellow bloggers on Saturday, April 24th, from 10AM – 12PM at Noah’s in South Jordan, as they enjoy refreshments, lots of great door prizes and tons of fun.

If you DON’T live in Utah…The week after the event, starting on April 26th, they’ll be hosting a virtual shower.  Everyone who donates baby items to the Teddy Bear Den will be eligible to win great prizes from PC Laptops, Ulta, GiftTree, Target, Marilee Jean, Blush, Bellybuds, Minutes with Me, and many many more.”

The Rose Pedal Charity:

“The Rose Pedal charity bike ride is a charity raising money for The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. An online team has been set up asking people to donate money for the cause. All money raise will go directly to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. That’s right, 100 percent. They are offering people who donate to Team Simply Modern Mom a chance to win a Taiwan aborigines handmade bracelet. There will be 2 winners.

The family who started Rose Pedal are wonderful people who have a daughter, Greyce, with CF. Although the doctors told them Greyce wouldn’t live pass elementary school age, she is now in her 20s and doing well. The medical field has made so many advancements in helping people with CF to live well into their 30s and 40s now. We are trying to help the cause and provide a better life for the 30,000 people with CF in the U.S.
